I'm Shianna Peters, MS, CNS, RN, CPT, NMT- a veteran, wife, and mother with a lifelong fascination with the human body and its remarkable capacity to heal when given the right support.
My path into healthcare was shaped early by personal experience. Childhood injury, military service, and later physical and hormonal challenges taught me firsthand that health is rarely simple or linear. These experiences didn't just inform my education; they shaped how I listen, how I assess, and how I care for others. I understand what it feels like to live in a body that needs more than surface-level solutions.
After leaving the military, I attended neuromuscular massage therapy school while exploring medical career paths. There, I began to see how common conditions- pain, headaches, tension, fatigue- were often rooted in hydration status, nutrient deficiencies, stress, or movement patterns rather than isolated diagnoses. That curiosity stayed with me.
During nursing school, I found myself continually asking questions that weren't being answered: Why wasn't nutrition foundational to patient care? Why did lifestyle and movement receive so little attention compared to pharmaceuticals? Why weren't patients taught how to support their own physiology? I knew there had to be a more comprehensive way to help people.
My professional interests have long centered on behavioral health, childhood obesity, and prevention, and over time my work expanded to include aesthetic and regenerative therapies. I pursued advanced training through National Laser Institute in cosmetic dermatology, lasers, and injectables- drawn to the medical precision of the field, while remaining grounded in the belief that true confidence and vitality come from health, not vanity.
Motherhood further deepened my commitment to root-cause care. After closely spaced pregnancies and breastfeeding, I experienced significant hormonal imbalances and was offered solutions that didn't align with my understanding of physiology. Instead, I immersed myself in research on nutrients, herbs, supplements, and lifestyle medicine- applying evidence-based strategies that restored balance and reinforced what I already believed: the body is resilient, adaptive, and capable of healing when supported appropriately.
During COVID, I became a certified personal trainer, recognizing that movement is one of the most powerful and underutilized tools in healthcare. Nutrition matters deeply- but movement, strength, and capacity often move the needle faster and more sustainably than any single intervention.
Rather than pursuing nurse practitioner training, I chose to specialize further into nutrition, earning a Master's degree in Clinical Nutrition, completing a rigorous 1,000-hour supervised internship, and passing the national board exam to become a Board Certified Nutrition Specialist (CNS). In 2023, I authorized legislation to modernize licensure for CNS providers in Montana- a bill that was signed into law in May 2025. I will be among the first CNS license applicants in the state once the law goes into effect.
Today, my work is centered on individualized, evidence-based care that honors the complexity of the human body. I do not believe in one-size-fits-all solutions or quick fixes. I believe in informed choice, sustainable habits, and empowering people to understand their own health.
I'm here to offer guidance, options, and steady support- walking alongside you as you build a healthier, more resilient version of yourself.
